Once upon a time there were no film editors, and life was not very interesting. But then Priest came along.

We understand the limited concentration afforded by most people in their never-ending quest for entertainment, which is why we make sure that every frame counts and is made to work hard for it's place in a cut.

We understand the need to always keep the kettle on , the beer cold and the monitors lined up .

The Team

Priest is a small group of dedicated individuals who all share one passion: film-making. We pride ourselves on being completely versatile and cover the entire range of creative editorial work: sophisticated tv commercials, awe-inspiring music videos and compelling feature films.
Cal Kingwill

The fabulously tall queen of Priest, with sparkly blue shoes and the post producer that needs no introduction.

But for those of you who have been under a rock for the past 20 years, or maybe have not ever done post work in Cape Town, Cal is commonly referred to as the top post producer in South Africa.

Prior to running Priest since it's immaculate inception in 2003 she was the stalwart head producer at the famous Cut Aways, which you also probably never heard of under that rock.
Michelle Barrow

Michelle's understanding of all things post-related is a fine thing to behold.

She eats post toast for breakfast and toasts post for lunch. She roasts post for sunday dinner and we're pretty sure she sleeps post in one way or another - but we'll leave that for her to tell you about.

Michelle controls the day-to-day running of the jobs, keeping the machine well oiled and ensuring the smoothness of the operators.
Matthew Swanepoel

The new kid on the block, a skinny guy with devilishly good looks.

Matthew likes to tell stories, and tell them well. Trained by the best, he has a knack for narrative and a discern for detail, and enjoys expressing emotive emphasis eloquently with each piece of work.

Having collected a couple of craft awards, including a Cannes Lion for editing in 2011, his exceptional editing expertise accompanies his astute ability to alliterate.
Luke Apteker

Luke is a Pisces, and likes to take long walks on the beach... also the occasional beer.

He is really enthusiastic and a likable bad influence. When it comes to editing, he's like the Stephen Hawking meets Jesus Christ meets Gandalf.

His work is like a black hole of perfect Jesus wizard sauce.
Carol Groenewald

The latest addition to the Priesthood, a talented editor in the making.

Carol is like editing oil. She is like a Red Bull for your HD monitor, like a protein shake for your render bar. Every job we do just goes smoother and better with her around.

She also likes beer and things that go on your head.
